The annual goal for the Byron Saunders Foundation is to provide Thanksgiving meals to 2,000 families. This goal would not be possible without the generosity of so many in the community who willingly give their time, talent and treasures.

With so many families facing economic hardships and uncertainty this year, the need will be even greater. Together, we can brighten the lives of these families as we provide a special meal for them at Thanksgiving. Here’s how you can help:

Volunteer

Below is a description of our volunteer opportunities and appropriate ages.

Publicity and Marketing - must be at least 18 years of age

Driver, Food Inventory & Sorter - must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license

Clerical Support - must be at least 13 years of age

Volunteer Recruitment - must be at least 18 years of age

Fundraising - must be at least 17 years of age

The Byron Saunders Foundation currently has chapters in Franklin County and Knox County. Both chapters work together on fundraising projects as well as food donations. Each chapter is responsible for the delivery of the Thanksgiving meals in their respective county.

To enroll in the Kroger Community Rewards Program, follow these simple instructions:

  Register your Kroger Plus card online at krogercommunityrewards.com. If you do not have a Kroger Plus card, they are available at the customer service desk at any Kroger.

 1.  Click on Sign in/Register.

 2.  Click on SIGN UP TODAY in the “ New Customer ” box.

 3.  Sign up for a Kroger Rewards Account by entering the zip code, clicking on favorite store, entering your email address and creating password, agreeing to the terms and conditions.

 4.  You will then get a message to check your email inbox and click on the link within the body of the email.

 5.  Click on My Account and use your email address and password to proceed to the next step.

 6.  Click on Edit Kroger Community Rewards information and input your Kroger Plus card number.

 7.  Update or confirm your information.

 8.  Enter the NPO number or name of the organization (NPO number for the Byron Saunders Foundation is 84754), select organization from list and click on confirm.

 9.  To verify you are enrolled correctly, you will see the organization's name on the right side of your information page.

 10.  Remember to use your Kroger Plus card or your phone number that is related to your card when shopping for each purchase in order for your purchase to count towards the rewards program.

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contribution made by their employees. If your company has a matching gift policy, request a matching gift form from your employer and send it completed and signed with your gift, and we will do the rest. The impact of your gift to The Byron Saunders Foundation One Meal At A Time may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.

Get your church, school or organization involved in The Byron Saunders Foundation. Projects can range from collecting food, fundraising, or volunteering. This program can provide an opportunity for community building through participation in a service project for the needy. These projects go beyond just the activity in which the individuals are involved. They engage the group in a learning experience that allows children and adults to receive valuable lessons about others less fortunate than they are and gain much gratification from doing so.

We will work personally with your church, school or organization to match up a suitable project with the interests of the group. Then we will develop a project plan and timetable, identifying fundraising goals, involve key people and promote involvement within your church, school or organization.
